AVE Clifton is an apartment community in Clifton, New Jersey. Techcelerant built its website as an online gallery of the residences and amenities. Interactive photos and virtual tours let renters picture their next home before they visit, so they arrive at a tour already interested.

The client

AVE Clifton offers apartments with shared amenities such as a fitness center, lounges and outdoor spaces. Its renters want a managed building with services on site. Many of them search from another city and decide which buildings to visit based on what they see online.

The problem

Renters judge an apartment by its photos. A floor plan and a list of amenities tell them what is there. Pictures tell them how it feels. For a renter who lives far away, the website is often the only tour they get before they shortlist a building.

AVE Clifton needed a site that put the visuals first and still made the details easy to find. The leasing team also wanted fewer wasted tours. If renters could see the spaces in advance, the people who booked a visit would be closer to signing.

What we built

  • A homepage that opens with "AVE Clifton Apartments," a large photo of the lobby lounge and a short introduction with a button into the apartments.
  • A full-width "Unparalleled Apartment Living" band over a dark photo of an apartment interior.
  • An "Amenities" section that pairs short copy with photos of residents using the fitness center.
  • A "Connected Community" section that describes the neighborhood and life around the building.
  • A "Photos of Apartments in Clifton, New Jersey" gallery page with a slider of large images, from the exterior at dusk to kitchens and living rooms.
  • A "Virtual Tours" page with a stack of video tours of different apartments, each with a play button.
  • A vertical side tab that stays on screen and leads to contact and tour scheduling.
  • A compact header with the AVE logo, a contact link and a menu button.

Design decisions

We built the site around one deep teal from the AVE brand. It frames the logo panel, the side tab and the buttons. Against that color, the warm interior photos look brighter, and the building's evening lighting stands out in the gallery.

Photos run large. On the gallery page, each slide fills most of the screen so renters can see finishes, light and layout. The slider arrows sit on the image itself, so moving through the set takes one tap.

Text sits in short blocks with a small label above a bold heading, such as "Live better at AVE Clifton" over "Amenities." Renters can skim the headings and stop only where they care. The homepage alternates between dark photo bands and white text sections, which gives a long page a steady rhythm.

Virtual tours got a page of their own. Video files are heavy and not every renter needs them, so we kept them off the homepage and linked to them from the main menu and the photo pages. A renter who wants to look around an apartment can get there directly.

The side tab is the only element that stays put while the page scrolls. It gives renters one constant next step without covering the photos.

The result

AVE Clifton now has a website that works like a first tour. Renters can browse the building and apartments in a large photo gallery, watch virtual tours, read about amenities and the neighborhood, and reach the leasing team from any page. The client's team can add new photos and tours as apartments are refreshed. Renters who book a visit have already seen the spaces they are coming to look at.
