Cubania Travel runs cycling and active tours in Cuba. Techcelerant designed and built its website at cubaniatravel.com. The site lets travelers pick a tour style, browse the most popular trips, learn how the company approaches sustainable travel, and read practical guides about money, internet access and daily life in Cuba before they go.

The client

Cubania describes itself as a cycling and active travel specialist in Cuba. It runs guided tours by bike, kayak and on foot, along with classic cultural trips. Its customers are curious, active travelers who want to see more of the country than the resorts. Many have never been to Cuba and have real questions about how travel there works.

The problem

Selling Cuba tours means answering two kinds of questions. The first is "Which trip is right for me?" The second is "How does Cuba actually work?" Travelers worry about currency, connectivity and local rules. If the website does not address those worries, people hesitate to book.

The client's team also wanted the site to feel like Cuba: colorful, warm and full of character. Many tour operator sites look like spreadsheets of departures, and that look did not fit the brand.

What we built

We built a tour company website with a strong sense of place and clear paths into the trips.

  • A homepage video hero with the line "Do it the Cuban way," set in bold red hand-lettered type over footage of Cuban streets.
  • A "There's a Cuba for you" section where visitors choose their style, with photo tiles for cycling, classic Cuba and other trip types.
  • A Most Popular Tours grid with photo cards, trip names such as Cuban Active Adventure and Cuban Discovery, short summaries and a link to view all tours.
  • A Sustainable Tours page with a wide landscape banner and a Cubania Experience section that uses icons to explain what is included on every trip.
  • A Featured Stories From Cuba section with guides like Travel Tips for Cuba, Understanding Cuban Money and How Do I Connect to the Internet in Cuba.
  • An icon row near the footer that links to key topics such as visas, health, money and packing.

Design decisions

We drew the palette from Cuba itself: a bright Caribbean blue for structure and headers, a classic red for headlines and calls to action, and plenty of white so the photos can breathe. The result feels lively and still reads clearly.

Headlines mix a condensed sans serif with a script accent ("for you," "tours," "from Cuba"). That pairing echoes old Cuban signage and gives the site personality without making body text harder to read.

We organized tours by travel style first. Most visitors know they want an active trip or a cultural one before they know which itinerary. Leading with style shortens the path to the right tour page.

The travel tips sit on the homepage because they answer the questions that stop bookings. Putting them in a buried blog would have left those questions open. Our guide on how often to blog covers how to keep content like this current.

The result

Cubania Travel now has a website that shows the character of its tours and answers the practical questions first-time visitors to Cuba ask. Travelers can choose a style, compare popular trips, understand the company's sustainable approach and read guides on money and internet access, all from the homepage.

The client's team can add tours, update itineraries and publish new stories through custom fields in the editor, so the site grows with each season's departures.
