Goliaz is a fitness brand that offers personalized workouts for the gym and for home. Techcelerant designed and built its app for iOS and Android. The app holds a library of over 400 exercises, structured workouts and challenges, plus social features: a chat feed, an event feed, group check-ins and a leaderboard.
The client
Goliaz serves people with different goals and equipment. Some train in a full gym, others at home with only their body weight. The brand is known for demanding challenges and a competitive community, and its members like to push each other.
The problem
Goliaz had the training content and the community, but they lived in separate places. Workouts were shared one way, challenges another, and conversations happened in outside chat apps. Members had no single place to train, join challenges and see how they compared with others. The client's team wanted the competitive side of the brand inside the app.
We needed to:
- Organize a large exercise library by goal and setting.
- Run challenges with clear start and end points.
- Give members ways to talk, see events and train together.
- Show rankings to keep the competition going.
What we built
The app has five tabs along the bottom: feed, training, challenges, groups and profile. The training screen is organized into sections:
- "Self-Overcome Challenges," a row of challenge cards, such as Ulysses and Ultra Sculpt, each with a strong photo and a status like open or closed.
- "Bodyweight," a grid of photo tiles for workouts and individual exercises that need no equipment.
- More sections for gym training and other goals, each with its own workouts and exercises.
The library holds over 400 exercises, each with instructions, and members can follow full workouts or pick single movements.
On the community side:
- A chat feed where members message each other and their groups.
- An event feed listing upcoming challenges, live sessions and other events.
- Group check-ins, so a training group can confirm everyone showed up for a session.
- A leaderboard that ranks members on challenge results.
Design decisions
Goliaz's training style is intense, and we gave the app a look to match. The background is solid black with bold white uppercase headings. Photography shows real people mid-effort in gyms and home settings, and fills each tile edge to edge.
Challenges sit at the top of the training screen. They're the heart of the Goliaz brand, and putting them first tells members what the app is about the moment they open it.
The Bodyweight section uses large tiles in a two-column grid with a short label in the corner of each photo. Members can tell from the image what a workout involves before they tap it.
Challenge cards show their status in small gray text under the title. Members can see right away which challenges they can still join.
We kept the bottom bar to five icons in white on black. Each icon marks one of the main areas, and the dark bar keeps attention on the content above it.
The result
Goliaz members now train, compete and talk in one app on the App Store and Google Play. They can follow workouts for the gym or home, pick from over 400 exercises, join challenges, check in with their group, chat, see upcoming events and climb the leaderboard. The client's team can launch new challenges and events and reach the whole community from one place.
