Murray's Cheese Bar restaurant website
Techcelerant built the Murray's Cheese Bar website for its Long Island City restaurant, with menus, an Our Story page, food photography and cheese details.

Murray's Cheese Bar is a restaurant built around cheese, from the team behind the well-known New York cheese shop. Techcelerant designed and built its website at murrayscheesebar.com. The site leads with food photography, introduces the Long Island City location, tells the restaurant's story, and gives detail on the cheese selection, menus and visiting.
The client
Murray's Cheese Bar serves dishes made with cheese from the Murray's cellars, along with cheese boards, cocktails and wine. Its Long Island City location has a bar, a dining room and a counter where guests can see the cheese. Guests range from neighbors stopping in for a drink to cheese enthusiasts who travel to try something specific.
The problem
Cheese is a subject people love to learn about, and the restaurant's selection is a big part of why guests come. A basic restaurant page with a menu and an address would not show that, and it would not make the food look as good as it tastes.
The client's team wanted a site that made people hungry, explained what makes the restaurant different, and handled the practical questions about location, hours and reservations.
What we built
We built a restaurant website with a strong photo story and clear practical pages.
- A homepage hero with a close-up of a pasta dish under melted cheese and the line "Experience the Pleasures of Cheese."
- A Located in Long Island City section with a photo grid of the bar, the dining room, plated dishes, the cheese counter and cocktails.
- A short welcome paragraph about the restaurant and its connection to the Murray's cheese shop, with a button to learn more.
- The Cheese Bar Restaurant section with photos of signature dishes, from baked pasta to dishes served in cast iron, and a link to the full menu.
- An Our Story page with a wide photo of the bar and dining room, a short history, and a photo row of the entrance, the staff and a cheese board.
- Detailed information on the cheese selection, so guests can read about what they are ordering.
- A black footer with address, hours, contact details and social links.
- A reservation button in the header, connected to the restaurant's booking system.
Design decisions
We used a simple white layout with black type and a black footer. Cheese dishes are full of warm yellows and browns, and a plain frame makes them look richer. A small red accent on buttons ties back to the Murray's brand.
The homepage photo grid mixes food, drinks and interiors in tiles of different sizes. Visitors get a sense of the room and the menu in one scroll, which helps them decide whether the restaurant suits a date night or a casual drink.
Headings use a bold, condensed sans serif in capitals. It reads clearly over photos and matches the casual, confident tone of a neighborhood cheese bar. Body text stays short, with the longer cheese details placed on their own pages for guests who want them.
Location sits high on the homepage because Long Island City guests often search for places nearby. Our guide to Google Business Profile optimization covers how a restaurant can pair a site like this with its map listing.
The result
Murray's Cheese Bar now has a website that shows off its food and explains its cheese program. Guests can see the dishes and the room, read the restaurant's story, learn about the cheese selection, check hours and book a table in a few clicks. Cheese enthusiasts get the detail they look for, and casual diners get the basics fast.
The client's team can update menus, photos and featured dishes from the site's editor as the kitchen changes its offerings.
