Priceline is an online travel company that helps people book hotels, flights, rental cars and packages at a discount. Techcelerant designed and built a travel booking website for the brand. The site puts search at the top of every page, shows deals clearly in hotel and flight results, and gives the marketing team flexible modules for seasonal promotions and city deals.

The client

Priceline is known for affordable travel. Its customers are price-aware travelers who compare options before they book. Many already have a destination and dates in mind. Others arrive looking for a deal and are open to where they go. The site has to serve both.

The problem

Travel booking sites carry a lot of information. Every hotel has a price, a rating, a location, amenities and often a special offer. Every flight has times, stops, airlines and fare types. If the interface shows all of it at once, shoppers get overwhelmed. If it hides too much, they leave to compare elsewhere.

The client's team needed a site that made search fast, showed deals without clutter, and let marketing run campaigns like a Season of Savings sale without disrupting the booking flow.

What we built

We built a search-led booking website with modular promo areas.

  • A homepage search panel headed "Save big on your next hotel," with tabs for hotels, flights, cars, packages and cruises, fields for destination and dates, and a large search button.
  • A Season of Savings promo graphic next to the search panel, built as a swappable module for any campaign.
  • Promotion cards below the search area, including a sweepstakes entry and a budget travel offer.
  • An app download prompt and a "Let the holiday road" seasonal feature with a large photo.
  • A Priceline Experiences section and an email signup for exclusive coupons.
  • A Discover deals in every city grid with photo tiles for New York, Los Angeles, Orlando, Atlanta, San Francisco, Miami and more.
  • Hotel results with a filter sidebar, a map at the top, and listing cards that show photo, name, area, rating and a clear price with deal badges.
  • Flight results with filters for stops, times and airlines, and fare cards that make the cheapest options easy to compare.

Design decisions

We kept the brand's blue as the main color and used it for headers, links and buttons. Green marks prices and booking actions in results, so the number a shopper cares about stands out from the surrounding detail.

Search comes first on every key page. Most visitors arrive with a trip in mind, and making them scroll past promotions to start would slow them down. Promotions sit beside or below the search panel, where they get seen without blocking the main task.

Results pages use a left filter sidebar and a single column of cards. Each card follows the same order: photo, name, location, rating, then price and button on the right. Travelers scanning dozens of hotels learn the pattern after one card.

The city deal grid uses big night-sky and skyline photos with the city name in script. It gives flexible travelers a visual way to browse and fills the lower homepage with something useful. For more on structuring a page like this, see our guide to homepage design best practices.

The result

Priceline now has a booking site where search is always one step away, results are easy to scan, and deals are visible without crowding the page. Travelers can filter hotels by area on a map, compare flight fares side by side, and browse deals by city when they have no fixed plan.

The marketing team can launch a seasonal sale, swap the promo graphic and update featured offers through modular sections, while the booking flow stays the same.
