Shwood Eyewear makes sunglasses and prescription frames with a focus on craftsmanship and natural materials, including wood. Techcelerant designed and built its online store at shwoodshop.com. The site pairs nature-inspired photography with a responsive, secure shopping experience, clear collection pages and short product stories that explain how and why each frame is made.

The client

Shwood started with wooden frames and grew into a full eyewear line: classic sunglasses, prescription eyeglasses and limited collections such as the Kennedy riding glasses. Its customers care about how frames look and also how they are made. Many of them buy because of the materials and the brand's outdoor, handmade character.

The problem

Eyewear is hard to sell online. Shoppers cannot try frames on, so photos and product detail have to answer the questions a store clerk would. They want to see the frame on a face, the frame on its own, and every color option.

Shwood also had a story to tell about materials and craft. That story was getting lost behind standard product grids. The client's team wanted a store that sold frames efficiently and still made the brand's values visible on the way to checkout.

What we built

We built a full Shopify store around photography and collections.

  • A homepage hero that features a single product line, such as the Kennedy riding glasses, shot outdoors on sun-baked ground with a clear shop button.
  • Category tiles for the main lines (Wood Classics, Acetate Originals and CAMP Eyewear among them) with model photos and short descriptions.
  • An "Experiment Every Day" feature band with a close-up of hands holding a frame, which links to the brand's craftsmanship content.
  • Collection pages, including Best Selling RX Eyeglasses and Women's Best Selling Sunglasses, each with a lifestyle banner, filters and a clean product grid.
  • Color swatches under each product so shoppers can see the finish options before opening the product page.
  • A customer review highlight and a Shop Best Sellers row on the homepage.
  • A responsive layout and secure checkout, so shoppers can browse and buy on any device.

Design decisions

We let the photography carry the brand. Wood grain, desert light and forest greens appear in the images, so the interface itself stays white with dark text and a muted mustard accent in the header. That restraint keeps attention on the frames.

Collection banners use a different natural scene for each line: dark foliage for prescription frames and an open desert for women's sunglasses. Each collection gets its own mood while the layout below stays the same, which makes the store easy to learn.

Product grids show frames on a white background, straight on, at the same scale. Shoppers comparing shapes can scan a row and see real differences. Lifestyle shots are kept for banners and features, where they sell the feeling of wearing the glasses.

We wrote product story sections to sit beside the specs, so shoppers read about materials and sustainability while they decide, on the same page as the price and colors. Our guide to product page best practices covers this approach in more depth.

The result

Shwood now has an online store that looks like the brand and works like a modern shop. Shoppers can move from a featured line to a collection to a specific frame in a few clicks, compare colors at a glance, and read what each frame is made of before they buy. The client's team can launch a new collection by adding a banner, a description and products, without new design work.

The store gives Shwood one place to sell its full range and to tell the craft story that sets it apart from other eyewear brands.
