The Yard runs private gyms in the San Francisco Bay Area where members train without sharing equipment and work with independent personal trainers. Techcelerant designed and built its website at goyard.fit. The site explains the private gym model in plain terms, introduces the trainers, lays out services and locations, and keeps a Book Now button in reach on every page.

The client

The Yard offers a different kind of gym. Members get private or semi-private space, a personal trainer and a program built around their goals, with health and lifestyle guidance alongside the workouts. Its locations include a San Francisco gym and a Mill Valley gym. Customers tend to be busy professionals who want results and privacy more than a crowded floor of machines.

The problem

A private gym needs more explaining than a standard membership gym. Visitors arrive with questions. What does "private" mean? Who are the trainers? How do I start? Which location is closest? If the website cannot answer those questions quickly, people book a tour somewhere easier to understand.

The client's team also works with independent trainers and partner programs such as A-Factor Fitness. Each one needed space on the site without making the main message harder to follow.

What we built

We built a marketing website organized around the questions new members ask.

  • A dark hero with the headline "Get Fit in The Bay Area's Best Private Gym," a short intro and two buttons: one to find a trainer and one to book.
  • A "Never Share Equipment Again" section with large service tiles for Private Gym, Personal Training and Online Coaching.
  • A How It Works page that walks through the steps from first contact to a regular training plan, next to a photo of a trainer and client.
  • A Meet the Trainers section with photo cards and short bios, plus partner program blocks such as A-Factor Fitness.
  • A Members section that explains what membership includes.
  • A location area with an embedded map and the addresses for San Francisco and Mill Valley, along with hours for each gym.
  • A bright green Get Started band at the bottom of the homepage and a Book Now button fixed in the main navigation.

Design decisions

We chose a deep teal and near-black palette with a bright mint green for actions. The dark tones match the moody lighting inside the gyms and feel more upscale than the bright reds and oranges common on fitness sites. The mint green is used only for buttons and key headings, so the next step is always easy to spot.

Headlines use a heavy, condensed sans serif in green, which reads as strong and athletic. Body text is a plain sans serif at a comfortable size. The pages explain a service, so the text had to be easy to read.

We put real photos of the gyms and trainers in every section, inside soft rounded cards with light shadows. Prospective members want to see the space and the people before they commit. Stock fitness photos would have hidden what makes The Yard different.

The service tiles sit early on the homepage so visitors can self-sort within a few seconds. Someone who wants online coaching does not have to read about the private gym floor first. Our guide to website navigation best practices covers this kind of structure.

The result

The Yard now has a website that explains its private gym model, shows its trainers and spaces, and tells visitors exactly how to start. A prospect can pick a service, read about a trainer, check the nearest location and book from the same page. The site also gives the gym's health tips and partner programs a clear home.

The client's team can add trainers, update hours and change featured programs from the site's editor as the business grows.
