Dress Up is a women's fashion boutique that sells trend-led clothing, shoes and accessories online. Techcelerant designed and built its store at shopdressup.com. The site is set up for a brand that launches new styles constantly: a flexible homepage for promotions and seasonal edits, simple navigation, and collection pages with filters that help shoppers find their size and style quickly.

The client

Dress Up started as a boutique and grew into an online-first fashion brand. It releases new arrivals often and runs time-limited promotions, holiday edits and themed collections. Its customers shop on their phones, follow the brand on social media and come back to see what is new.

The problem

A fast-moving fashion store has two jobs that pull against each other. The homepage has to change often enough to feel fresh, and the store has to stay organized enough that a shopper can find a specific sweater in a specific size. When promotions pile up, navigation gets cluttered and filtered results stop making sense.

The client's team needed a store where marketing could launch a campaign without a developer, and where shoppers could cut a large catalog down to the few items they want.

What we built

We built a Shopify store with modular homepage sections and strong collection tools.

  • A full-width promo banner at the top of the homepage that the team swaps for each campaign. The version shown features a winter promotion over a photo of models in puffer vests and knit hats.
  • A row of trend tiles below the banner for current looks such as cozy sweaters and graphic tops.
  • Split feature panels for themed edits, including a cozy sweaters story, plus a Holiday Party Dresses banner with its own shop button.
  • A centered logo header with clear menu links for new arrivals, clothing, shoes, accessories and sale.
  • Collection pages, such as New Arrivals and Shoes, with a filter sidebar for size, color, price and category and a sort menu at the top of the grid.
  • Product cards with model photos, color swatches and prices, laid out in an even grid that works on mobile.

Design decisions

We used a clean white base with a terracotta accent bar across the top. The products are colorful and change every season, so a neutral frame keeps the site from clashing with any collection. The accent bar gives the brand a recognizable touch.

The homepage is built from blocks the client's team can reorder: banner, tiles, split panels, full-width features. Each campaign can use the same parts in a different order, so the page always looks designed even when it changes weekly.

Photography stays lifestyle-first on the homepage, with models outdoors or in styled sets. On collection pages, we kept crops and backgrounds consistent so shoppers can compare items side by side.

Filters sit in a visible sidebar on desktop and a slide-out panel on mobile. Fashion shoppers filter by size first, and hiding that option costs sales. For more on helping shoppers finish an order, see our article on reducing cart abandonment.

The result

Dress Up now has a store that keeps up with its release schedule. The client's team can launch a promotion, feature a holiday edit or highlight a trend from the theme editor on its own. Shoppers can go from a homepage banner to a filtered list of items in their size in a couple of taps.

The navigation stays tidy as the catalog grows, because new items slot into existing categories and filters instead of new menu items.
